Chicharito situation is almost over

As we enter the first days of March, it’s safe to say that Chicharito’s inauspicious situation is about 90 days from arriving at its extremity. If there was a way for me to give Chicharito any pointers on how to proceed it would be to follow the lead of his Mexican counterpart, Andres Guardado.

Number of minutes played by 12 El Tri players in Europe

Assuming that the following 12 players are the most skilled and are guaranteed a spot on the Mexican national team A team, here is a report card that shows their stats.  Spoiler alert, Héctor Herrera is the Mexican that has accumulated more minutes and in a close second is followed by Jesus Corona:

Hector Herrera gets the "balon d'semana" (Aztec Warriors exclusive award) with his contribution this week.  The FC Porto midfielder opened the scoring in the 3-1 victory against Penafiel.

Memo Ochoa rings in 2015 with some class

Memo Ochoa was finally in the starting XI in the Copa Del Rey match against Levante. Ochoa got his first clean sheet of 2015 with Malaga and here is one of my favorites which didn't require the use of hands as he reacted quickly and kicked saved the ball out of peligro!

Carlo Ancelotti says Chicharito playing his role


Ancelotti came out to praise Chicharito by saying his work ethic and training is on par with his expectations.  All though Chicharito has not had much playing time he is playing the role that he wants him to play.  For those that played the wonderful sport of soccer, understand that the intensity from practice is the lumber that fuels the fire on gameday.  

Jesus Corona extends contract till 2018 at FC Twente

Tuesday, Jesus Corona extended his contract by one year . The new commitment of the 21-year-old Mexican, will now keep him at FC Twente until mid-2018.

Jesus Corona says: "I am delighted with this new contract. It expresses confidence of the club and of the trainers ... I feel that I have grown in recent months as a footballer. Alfred Schreuder and the other coaches have played an important role. This line I want to extend , at FC Twente and my country. "

Carlos Vela, Real Sociedad

In today's update, Vela steals the award for best Mexican abroad player with his impressive Hatchtrick.  Other good news is we still have a consistent group of players playing 70 minutes and above.  Lets hope that as time progresses the minutes played by each player maintains or grows as well.
