A coach plagued by health issues arriving to Atlas changed the image of the club mostly due to new ownership at Atlas. Granted he has removed the team from relegation zone however his consistent issue tends to be the usual quarterfinal meltdown. There was a mutual agreement between the Salinas owners and Boy to end any possibility of contract extensions. Rumors point towards Boy signing with Cruz Azul in the coming days.

Perhaps the most eventful quarterfinals in a very long time. Nail biter games, unwanted "ultras" violence, bloopers, stunning goals and many, many upsets.
