Mexico NT transfer rumors

By Andy Lara - Oklahoma City, OK - The Aztec Warriors  - twitter @kookylara

The Mexico National team has been making moves left and right in the midst of Gold Cup action. It has become more certain that Chicharito will remain at Old Trafford to finish out his contract. Chicha goes back to Manchester United with the advantage of being at the top of the pecking order this time around after Robin Van Persie tranferred to Fenerbahce and Falcao made his move to Chelsea. It is likely that Van Gaal will indeed bring in another world class striker however with so many tournaments to play it is likely that Chicha will have a similar competition like he did when Berbatov was around in 2011.

Diego Reyes has made the move to join Mexico teammate Carlos Vela at Real Sociedad. David Moyes surely will have confidence in starting the young Reyes at the backline. It has become clear that Porto has no intention of selling the player, perhaps to see if his stock value rises after his year at la liga. Porto is the king of flipping a profit on players and I am certain that if Reyes has a stellar season in La Liga he will have champions league teams knocking to sign him.

I partially applaud the move to see Giovani Dos Santos head over to LA. He made a decision and precisely agreed to a team that has been wanting to sign him since 2013. He was given the prestiguous  #10 jersey which was previously worn by American legend Landon Donovan. The negativity I see in Gio going to the MLS is the lack of matches during the winter time although I do hope he is loaned out to Spain or Mexico during the MLS break. The salary that Gio is going to be earning is around the 4.5 million range (estimated) is fair however due to his marketing potential the salary could have been higher.

Guillermo Ochoa is merely a signature away from heading over to join teammate Hector Moreno at Espanyol. Although this time he will surely get the starting spot after Espanyol keeper Kiko Casilla made the big move to Real Madrid. To refresh everyone's memory, Ochoa signed on a free transfer to Malaga and is now being transferred to Espanyol for a rumored $500,000 fee. Malaga at this point is cutting their losses to avoid Ochoa's hefty salary.

Miguel Layun was relegated to the bench during the last few months at Watford as they were promoted to the Premier League. Its notable to see that he is no longer being promoted on Watford ads and a loan or transfer to spanish "sister" club Granada (same owner as Watford) is very likely. Another player who is on the verge of joining Granada on loan is Raul Jimenez of Atletico Madrid. The signings of Vietto and Jackson Martinez to Atleti alongside standout player Griezmann practically makes it impossible for Raul to have any real aspirations to start at Atleti

Finally the big shot in the dark as far as transfer rumors go is Tecatito Corona. There is nothing out in the rumor mill for a Tecatito transfer although it is VERY likely that with his continuous stellar performances he will land at a big club this very transfer window which ends August 31.

Great recap

I really do hope that Memo gets a better deal and I can't wait to see Tecatito rise in status and head over to a Champions League caliber team. He truly has a skill set that Mexico has not seen for some time now and I want him to progress into a huge threat for El Tri.
