Turn Your Home Into the Hottest World Cup Bar

It's the summer of football, and fans from around the world will turn in to see the beautiful game's biggest event. If you can't make it to Brazil to support the Aztecas in the World Cup, bring the atmosphere to your backyard. Fans from around the world are bringing the bar atmosphere to their living rooms. With the right grill, drink platter, and TV set, your home-bar can rival any Tacqueria or bar in the Americas. Start spreading the word: Your house is futbol-central come in a few days: June! Here's your guide to turn your home into a summer party pad as the World Cup approaches.

The Entertainment System

TVs and a sound systems are the foundation of a great sports bar. Guests should be able to comfortably view a TV as they enjoy their food and drinks. You have probably experienced a bar that doesn't offer a clear view of the game. Chances are you never went back. If you want your home bar to be the talk of the neighborhood, invest in a TV (or two) big enough to be seen from anywhere in the room.

The Food and Drinks

If you truly hope to recreate a futbol-bar atmosphere, food and drinks are a high priority. A month of football bliss demands a steady flow of your favorite beer. Start with a keg to give you and your guests that on-tap taste as they watch the action. (remember Corona is not available on tap, so expand your horizon and choose wisely)

The Furniture

With a beer in hand and a plate full of food, you and your guests will need furniture to take in the the full game experience. To make sure everyone can see, try a auditorium-style seating plan: a few on the floor in front, a few on the couch in the middle, and a few on raised bar stools in the back.
