In a game that defined what a captain of a national team should be, we saw Piojo's choice; Andres Guardado, take on the role and over exceed expectations and raise the bar. Andres became the first player to score in three CONCACAF Gold Cup finals, won the golden ball honors and made key plays to get Mexico into the finals during the quarter finals and semi finals. Guardado opened up the scoring in the 2015 Gold Cup victory on Sunday. The captain opened the scoring in the 31st minute as Jonathan Dos Santos hustled the ball away from Jamaica and handed it over to Mr. Paul Aguilar. Then, Aguilar made a perfect pass from the right wing that soared over the penalty area and onto Guardado's left foot. The PSV Eindhoven striker finished by slamming the volley into the back of the net. Mexico captured a record-extending seventh CONCACAF Gold Cup title with a 3-1 win over Jamaica on Sunday before a crowd of 68,930 at Lincoln Financial Field.
