Game day - Mexico vs Holland at Amsterdam Arena

Big day today as Mexico will face a familiar 2014 foe, Holland. The team that knocked Mexico out of the FIFA World Cup 2014 in what many believe in a controversial way will host Mexico at one of their state of the art stadiums in Amsterdam.

Some journalists and bloggers have indicated that this game is built on revenge for El Tri but Miguel Herrera insisted to let the media know that it was “not a case of revenge”.

For me this game will hopefully answer 1 of the following pending questions I have as a El Tri fanatic:

  1. Does the arrival of Carlos Vela make our attack more potent?
  2. Will our midfield still show greatness with Jonathan Dos Santos and Jesus Corona injected into the system?
  3. Can our defense break down a player like Arjen Robben?
  4. Will Guardado or Chicharito be able to handle the captain role?

I have faith Mexico is heading in a direction that will lead them to success in the heavy tournament packed 2015 that is around the corner and beyond. Miguel Herrera is making progress and holding down a core group of national players that will all be vital to the success of El Tri. Its a matter of continuing in the process and using all of the experience from friendlies like these to learn and grow.
